I found myself wishing I had my book with me so I could take advantages of the times to read so I downloaded the kindle version as well. Loved the ease of having it on my phone. Excellent book Scott. I must first say that I rarely read Epic Fantasy. I was pleased and surprised that I absolutely loved Mythica Genesis! The characters jump out at you and you feel as you read the book that you actually know these people. The heroes are just that, strong, brave, undefeatable in purpose and cause. The villians, oh, my, they are powerful characters too and in their own lust and greed they threaten to destroy all, just like in real life. There are incredible bonds of friendship and brotherhood, and the romance has you falling in love all over again. It just has everything. I cannot wait to read his next book!
When I read this book, I expected it to be fantasy through and though. It has so much more. What an amazing concept and maybe a true reality to the human race. Because of greed, lust, power, you name the adjectives. The world as we know it destroys itself. Enter a new beginning, the lost and almost forgotten inhabitants of earth many thousands of years before. Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, are back and thriving. In a position of power! Humans exist, but are the minority. This is an epic tale of man's rise in this new world.
This novel has an amazing story to tell about our evolution. The characters are so believable, and human. I'm a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi, but add in the magical aspect. Wow, this novel is a winner! I can't wait for the next.

As if the cover isn't captivating enough to make you want to buy this book, it is EXCELLENT! An extremely well crafted novel. I can already see the movie from this action-packed fantasy. Colley's vocabulary and descriptions are remarkable. Characters are well thought out with distinct personalities and characteristics. Interesting and unique to read from the Orcs' perspectives as to grasp their ruthless, cunning personalities. Mythica Genesis is a very fun, original read. Well done Colley!
I enjoyed Scott Colley's Mythica Genesis from word one. I felt as though I were traveling with the characters, experiencing their fears and doubts along the way. Wounds were described in a way that I felt the weakness and despair without going too far with gore. I laughed, I cried, I rejoiced as the Arkenstone brothers held fast in their quest to accomplish the task set before them. The relationship between Lazerus and Neslyn was beautifully developed...tender and real without going over the top. I kept thinking I knew how everything was going to turn out in the end, then it would take a delightful twist and throw me into a wonderful spin. I certainly do hope this fantastic book will become a movie one day soon. I will be one of the first in line to see it. Do yourself a great favor...go get this book and read it, you will find yourself waiting anxiously for Scott Colley's next one.
As a disclaimer I must admit that I may be biased in my review of this book because I am a huge fan of the Sci-Fi genre. Having said that - this book was amazing! It was very well written and easy to follow which at times can be hard to do when reading Sci-Fi because of the unusual names for people and places as well as the introduction of things that don't exist in our world; but the author as done a wonderful job with the writing.
The story is also awesome. I really liked the fact that the author takes us into the possibilities of what can happen in the future for Earth .. a bit like Avatar except that it is set on our own planet. Makes you stop and say hmmm maybe we better take care of what we have!
All in all a great book that is engrossing with very realistic and relatable characters.
Mythica Genesis takes place on a future world of Scott Colley's creation. It is based on our world, indeed it is one possible future version of our world. What would the planet be like after mankind destroyed it? What would the world become if given the chance to start over? This is where we begin, in a world changed by the past atrocities that have taken place on it. Mankind has lost the position as dominant race on the planet and must fight for survival among creatures like Faeries, Elves, Giants, Trolls and more. Magic is commonplace here, and many have become quite skilled in its use. But there are those who wield its power for their own dark purposes, and they are strong in this world.
At its heart, this is a story of the Arkenstone brothers. This book has something for everyone - mystery, battle and romance are just some of the plots taken on in this epic piece. Full of intriguing plot twists and engaging characters, Mythica Genesis is the start of something great. It is a richly detailed world, told in beautiful prose. I look forward to seeing where Mr. Colley takes the stories of these Humans, Elves, Orcs and more in future installments. If you are fan of epic fantasies, you can't go wrong with Mythica Genesis.
The detail with which Scott describes everything makes you feel like you are right there as part of the story. He sets up the plot quickly so that you don't want to put it down and then takes you on a wonderful adventure. Many surprises keep your attention during the adventures of the heroes and villains alike. I do not normally read for pleasure but I really enjoyed Mythica Genesis from cover to cover and hope a sequel is on its way.
